Welcome to our forums! This online gardening community is different, political, and organic. I decided to start these forums so gardeners would have a free place to discuss heirloom gardening, gene-altered food, seed saving, natural politics and products. We are dedicated to saving our food and horticultural heritage, and hope you enjoy this forum for the free-thinking gardener! Wishing you great gardening, Jere Gettle |

Potatoes are as well, members of the nightshade family. If you have problems with joint inflammation you can make that worse with tomatoes and potatoes as well.

That is not true. There is no scientific evidence to support that. A long time ago Drs use to think nightshades contributed to joint inflammation, but now know they have no effect on it..... |

The only thing that keeps the deer out of my garden is an 8'fence. I tried the soap, the hair, the vhs tapes, the radio on all night (just gave them music to dine by). I tried that nasty smelling Invisible Fence, I got a dog (who just loves the deer and will lay in the grass with them!) I gave up and got the fence! Best investment ever!

Oh no. I was going to try the vhs tape and soap this year, but I may just have to talk hubby into a fence is that won't work. I am so discouraged with having so much disappear from the garden at night. I noticed the deer could care less about dogs, too.

I usually get possums running on my wall along the garden, so what I did was I setup metal wires into a lookalike "barbwires" so it can stop them from running around on my garden and eating fruits
