Absolutely, as I alluded to by mentioning carbon dating. Logic isn't an issue, Julius Ceasar and his advisors didn't have the benefit of carbon dating and in 45 BCE, I doubt anyone even suspected creatures like dinosaurs ever roamed the Earth, and if they did uncover some bones, they likely would have been explained as being of the realm of Mount Olympus. Their view of world and of the passage of time was based on what information, however flawed and incomplete by today's standards, they had available. In all fairness, one really needs to evaluate their accomplishment by their standards, not ours.

Very true, Digger. In hindsight, given that we now know that the historians/mathematicians/astronomers/astrologers involved in the calendar's development were working with inaccurate information, don't you agree that they did remarkably well to get as close as they did?
