White Flat Dutch Strap Leaf

Extra Early White Top Milan

This fine sort is very similar to the Purple Top Milan but is pure white in color. It is an excellent Summer turnip making wonderfully rapid growth. Flesh tender.

Amber Globe

One of the best varieties either for table use or for a field crop for stock. Flesh yellow fine-grained and sweet color of skin yellow with green top. Hardy keeps well a good cropper and grows to a very large size. Very popular in the Southern States.

Japanese Foliage Turnip

For greens as well as for turnips this new variety is considered very fine. The plant resists extreme dry weather and lice. The leaves are large and very long they grow upright about two feet tall. The greens are tender juicy and of finest mild turnip flavor. In 20 to 25 days from time of sowing the first crop of greens is ready for use. Purple Top Strap-Leaved

More generally planted than any other variety. It is a quick grower flesh if very fine grained and sweet flavored. In shape the roots are broad and flat of medium size. Planted largely for table use and stock feeding it is a very good keeper. May be sown either broadcast or in drills and will form good sized bulbs in seven to eight weeks. This is very similar to the preceding except in color being purple or dark red on the top. It is of good quality and recommended highly for a garden turnip. The seed of this variety is imported.

This is a very early variety and is rapidly taking the place of all other flat turnips for table use form round flat medium size very small top with but few leaves which are of entire upright growth more resembling horse-radish leaves in shape flesh fine-grained and of exceedingly rich buttery flavor a purely American variety. Of this variety we harvested eight hundred bushels of seed in one season grown from selected bulbs set out in the spring on our own seed farm.

Rutabaga Turnip

A different growing Turnip entirely. It has smooth leaves like a cabbage grows slower than an ordinary turnip and much larger. The best variety has a purple top with yellow flesh. This is the variety we use. They are not much of a success here in Iowa but in the northern states they are quite valuable. Per pkt 5c. oz. 15c. lb 35c. lb. 90c. 2lb 1.60.
