Welcome to our forums! This online gardening community is different, political, and organic. I decided to start these forums so gardeners would have a free place to discuss heirloom gardening, gene-altered food, seed saving, natural politics and products. We are dedicated to saving our food and horticultural heritage, and hope you enjoy this forum for the free-thinking gardener! Wishing you great gardening, Jere Gettle |

Hi all! I just joined and am happy to be here (nice to see so many homesteading today friends too). I live in Ohio and have been gardening for about 17 years. I grew up pulling weeds and picking veggies, but that was my parents' garden so I didn't want to do it. My dad just cracks up about how into this I am now!
This is the first year that I am growing heirloom veggies. I bought a whole bunch of goodies from Baker Creek...so far so good. |

Hi everyone. I live just south of Norwood Missouri. Used to live at the Lake of the Ozarks. I'm sure glad I moved. It's so quiet and peaceful around here. Seems like there are more dairy cows than people.
I've been to the spring festival at Baker Creek before we moved last year. I am so glad that we live so close now. My husband and I have been gardening in raised beds for the most part. I'm looking forward to getting our garden area ready to go here at the new place. Hopefully there won't be anymore moves in the near future. |

I live in beautiful Castro Valley, Ca. about 40 minutes from San Francisco. I just plain love to grow. Vegetables are at the top of the list. I am also an orchid fanatic.

I live in Southern Ct. Last year was my second garden. My first was a 3X8 box which worked out great for myself. Now I am living with my son and last year I worked a 4X50 area and was fantastic. I canned tomatoes and froze peppers. I just used my last jar of tomatoes last week. This year I want to double this and add a flower cutting garden. I can't wait. I have ordered all my plants and my seeds. I can't wait to get started.

Southwestern Ontario, Canada. This is such a great thread, and I'll have to take the time to read all of the posts! I have an ever-expanding 25x50' veg. garden, maintain other ornamental and aquatic gardens in a 5 acre area around the house. I live on 67 acres - some workable land, 21 acres of bush & trails. I love heirloom veg's - esp. tomatoes! I am a new member. Hi to everybody!

I live in South Central Texas and grow lots of tomatoes. I starting exploring the world of heirloom and open pollinated tomatoes in 2000 and have amassed a very large collection of tomato seed.

Eastern Ontario Canada.
I've been an organic gardener for over 25 years and an heirloom gardener/seedsaver for a good portion of that. Have also decided this year to try to grow Giant Veggies and as a result, joined a growers group of same near where I live. http://www.gvgo.ca This is my second attempt at this..I had problems 10 years ago with big pumpkins due to taste testing by my freerange ducks..No more ducks...gonna give it another try.. We recently visited Baker Creek on our way home from visiting friends outside West Plains, MO...And after relating our tales about the fascinating store, seeds and very friendly staff there, we've apparently made converts out of our friends in WP as well as some outside Mansfield and in OK... I see some acquaintances from HT on here as well..Looking better all the time, |
