My garden appears to be growing slowly and setting very little fruit. Tomatoes should be huge right now but are only a couple feet tall. My peppers are seeing very small fruit that won't grow.
Now my ground cherries are doing great and my cukes are looking to be great yet behind the curve, along with my zukes. Any ideas why my garden appears to be lagging behind the times? |

First time growing in this spot? Slow growth and no fruit would indicate Nitrogen and Phosphorus issues.

Or, the weather............ That would be my 'issue' right now........... 'Ground' is good, plants fed well..........The weather? BITES .............. Just went through a little more than a week of 60-5 degree day with mid 40s nights ( my maters do NOT like that) It's forecast to be closer to 'normal' (80s, 50+ nights) starting today........... But we have had this cycle all yr............ 'Warm' for a few days (a couple ever headed for hot 90+) then back to 65 with cool nights............... Hope springs eternal for consistent warm weather ( unlike last yr, ick)

I agree with the cooler weather, at least here. Still dropping down to high 30's, low 40's at night. Days get up into the 90's. Everything here is growing very slow. Maybe your weather patterns have been less than ideal as well.

Don't give up try adding more nutrients to your soil or using environmentally safe fertilizers!

Weather has been perfect. I fertilize and use organic methods. Soil test was pretty good. Everything looks great just slow or not performing. Some plants though are loving it some ... meh.
I don't have a clue. |

) I know you put yer zone............ But it makes a difference 'where' that Z7 is............. My Z7 (I know it says 8b, but I don't really believe that) has VERY dry growing seasons, where as others are just the opposite............. So, my advice would be, all things equal, take a breath, continue takin' care and see what happens............ Good luck..........
