Oh I completely forgot my favorite from childhood.. Homemade handturned ice cream, Real Maple with old English Black walnuts from my Grandma's trees....oh that was delicious and nothing else ever like it!

Oh gosh, that is good. Reminds me of K&B Black Walnut that my dad used to buy when I was a kid, and I grew to love it.

Oinking back atcha! I'm going to make homemade peach for the 4th of July. We have an old fashioned crank churn and everybody moans when I drag it out, but there's nothing like hand churned ice cream. (Except for Blue Bell, of course... ) Thank goodness they sell Blue Bell here. I wouldn't have moved here if it wasn't available.

rozie, yes, peach is so delicious; one of my favorites. Blue Bell is a well liked brand. We have a distribution center where I live.
As a side note, I became intrigued with an ice cream called bakdash. It looks soo good. It is native to Damascus, Syria and is made with mastic and is usually pistachio covered. I learned about it when someone was looking for a "chewy" gelato.

, Guess what? Our water is off AGAIN. It's going to get 92 here, which is really unheard of at this altitude, and we have no water. At least I watered the garden yesterday before the water went off, and washed dishes, but not clothes. sigh. I guess Della and I will just have to go over to the lake and swim
