Does anyone have Lemon Coriander growing in their garden? Can you please tell me where you purchased your seeds? I've only seen this herb for sale, online, in the UK and Australia (and they don't ship to the USA).... thank you!

Sherilou,
I've never heard of this, either, but one variety of coriander seed I buy for cooking is sort of yellowish in color, and has a sort of citrusy aroma when ground up. It is the variety you can find in an Indian grocery store, and is more oval than round in shape, like the traditional coriander seed. Could this be what you are referring to? BTW, I tried sprouting some of the seeds, but, unfortunately, none germinated.

I have a link for you, but they don't ship to the USA. I also found it in the Plantfiles at Dave's Garden. "Nicky's Nursery" in Australia described it at being "not as bitter as other coriander varieties". I've never thought of coriander as bitter, though. I would love to grow it. Coriander/Cilantro is one of my all-time favorite herbs.
Dave, I bet you do have the seeds... too bad they didn't germinate. Does anyone have a friend in India? I bet they'd know of it. http://www.dobies.co.uk/Garden/Herbs...eds_435995.htm |

I've never heard of it either but I'll bet cooking with it would be fun. What interesting flavors to blend.

Check this out - here is a source on eBay, with a photo of that coriander seed I was describing to you. As you can see, it is oval, and has a golden tint to it. Not sure if this is the lemon coriander, but it may be worth trying, @$2.33, with no shipping, and it is coming from Sri Lanka! Does this tell you how we are being ripped off with shipping prices in this country?
I am going to see if that company has anything else worth ordering. I ordered some pepper seeds from an Australian company a couple years ago (I looked to see if they had these seeds, since you mentioned another Australian company, but to no avail), and also got free shipping. Turns out the only other things they have for sale are some green cardamom seeds and some teas, so I just ordered the coriander. No guarantee that it will be viable, but I figure it is more likely to be fresh from there, and less likely to be heat dried than the bag I got that was grown in Canada.

This has me intrigued! I love cilantro and had no idea there was another form out there. I did a google of "indian coriander" and it came up with some spice companies that sell it and the descriptions generally note a citrusy flavor. There was also an image that came up that showed the Indian and European seeds side by side. There was a noticeable difference. The ones in Pepperhead's link on eBay look like the Indian ones from that photo. Please update with your results!!!

There should be plenty, as I will be getting nearly 2 oz of seeds. I'll keep you updated.
