According to the University of Florida, mature macadamias can withstand short periods at 25 degrees F. But young trees can die at temperatures just below freezing.
So that translates to zone 9b and higher. (9a might work if the tree is planted in a protected microclimate.) http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/mg052

Coffe_Break, is there anything special I would need to do to the nut before planting, or would I just plant it straight in the ground?
Red, how old are your trees? Thanks. |
