Just wondering........is it going to be ok for 5 days with those mater plants lowered into that clear container with the lights on a timer......seems like any ventilation will be blocked...I hope they don't over heat, and get enough air flow......the maters sunk low in the container worries me.......

Really gorgeous pics, jonathan. The second image of the basil could be a painting.

Thanks for the head up! You clearly don't read marijuana forums! They completely surround their plants with reflective material, in tight little "grow rooms".Either way I've got both ends open to the air and a fan on a timer.

I have been growing under T5 lights for 4 years now and I also have Tekfoil http://www.teksupply.com/contractor/...nsulation.html around the sides & back of my growing area ....but my plants are not sunk down in containers, and my plants get a lot of moving air....but, enjoy your trip, I am sure your plants will be fine......and NO, I don't read marijuana forums....I come from a very extensive law enforcement family.....be the last kind of forum that would impress me......

Gardening as a medical school student often means squeezing whatever work you can in a race against the setting sun.
I set up the Wall O' Waters tonight and amended the soil in my planters where I set them up. It felt good to get my hands dirty. I needed a flashlight for the last few minutes of work as it was getting dark. In a week I'll at least have a few tomatoes out! Peas are up, and lettuce too.

Some of my toms were just getting too big to live in my basement any longer, so out they went to a wall-o-water. The jury is still out on wall-o-waters as to whether or not they actually help produce better or more tomatoes, but I can say at the very least, they help clear up some indoor space by letting you get some outside a little sooner. Last year the plants in the wall-o-waters didn't grow any faster or stronger than their indoor counterparts.
So outside I've got a Stupice (the thickest "trunk" I've ever seen), 2 Sunset's Red Horizon, an incredible looking Carbon with a great looking megabloom, a "Jen's Cherry", and a Black Cherry. ![]() I think this is 4 blossoms.

Black Krim, completely grown in my basement with artificial lights and a make-shift watering system:
![]() Does this guy have cancer? Leaves and the rest of the plant look super healthy, why is he sending out roots like this? Half the plant is covered in roots. Strange things have happened this year: ![]() Rutgers. New to my garden this year, but looking super strong in my basement: ![]() ANOTHER megabloom! I bet I've got about 10% of my plants with fused blossoms. There has GOT to be a scientific reason: ![]() I'm really growing a mutant garden this year.

Dang -- you got some of the best looking stuff grown indoors I've ever seen! Some of those stems are like pencils!
