I forgot the Pomegranates that I have started from seed, store bought Pomegranates. They survive and do well here, or at least some breeds do well here. I guess I will have to wait and find out.

well my bhuddas hand peaches came in.going to stratify the whole pits in moist paper towels and baggie.unsure if they need oxygenation or not?
pear seeds in the fridge along with some giant dried pawpaw seeds.the wild persimmons seeds i recieved are in there too.they are biiiiiiiiiig.way bigger than the persimmon seeds i got from a domesticated variety from a different seller.i would expect the wild seeds to be smaller.lol still waiting on the majority of my apple tree seeds to get here from china.bought 100 seeds from a us seller of wild apple seeds gathered in maine. those will be next week for sure.lol if yer gonna do it do it whole hawg i says.lol

Actually you might not need to water at all once soil freezes--thats the yankee in me talking.
I'd stick a finger in the dirt (in the pot) every day or three. I wouldn't water till my finger came out dry. Bonsai guys use a chop stick for the same test.

As for the potted seeds, don't water so much that it gets soggy, but don't let it dry out either. The moisture content of a good compost pile is what you are looking for.

well i'm done aquiring seed.lol
my main intrest is in apples. i have aquired...hopefully...lol seeds as follows..... siberian crab apple.......european crabapple, chinese crabapple......seeds from a prariefire crabapple, and some native 3-400 year old strains from maine. oughta be an interesting mix of genetics eh? rotfl now i gotta find a wholesale supplier of 2 gallon pots.smiles i don't think i'll have the land to grow all these out.and lord knows what will survive and what won't in my texas gumbo. but a lot of these have wild genetics and are cold and drought hardy. will be fun to watch the action. thinking i'll drop any that grow in rows 5-6 feet apart.will remove the duds as we go along. crazy is as crazy does.smiles
