He probably didn't. And it wouldn't matter if he did. All major Reps and Dems, with a couple of exceptions, support the illegal war in Libya. They do so because their owners told them to support it. End of story.

Qadafi claimed that it was Al Quiada that was behind much of it. There were known members there organizing against him, yet we helped his overthrow.

The people who are making money off Libya, Afghnaistan and Iraq could not care less about Al Qaeda or anything else except money.

It will be another good thing actually. A reason to now take over the whole country and subjugate it to western powers. It has the largest unexploited sweet crude reserves in the world. Quadafi had it figured out, at the levels they were pumping it, that it would last a couple of hundred years. I bet they pump it dry in a few decades.
