No, that's a berry on an asparagus plant. Good question.
The bug was about the same size as a ladybug.

This is a project i worked on for school. i have quite a few pictures on there if people are interested (i worked hard to build the site and capture the bugs with what i had). Bugs are creepy, cool, and kind of a mystery. overall they need to back off our gardens :P
