One of my doctor's waives his fee, petitions the hospital and medical device company to do the same for those who need defibrillators who do not have insurance. It doesn't happen all that often but I'd say at *least* once a year for all 3 to agree at the same time. He's waived his fee even when they wouldn't. So at least some of them (physicians, hospitals and medical device companies) are doing the right thing helping those that they can when the situation arises.

re: There is not enough Money -
Yes, there is. Take a look at the past few years of our economy - the bankers have played fast and loose taking our economy down. Between the Federal Reserve and the US government, they have been recipients of TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS through bailouts, borrowing from the fed at no cost thru near zero interest rates(free money), and QE (buying out of bad paper, among other methods that increase the flow of liquidity to the banks.) All this to private businesses that are in the profession of money. Teh banks are awash in liquidity, as are many other large corporations that are on the recieving end of these economic policies. And despite their "losses", the bonuses continue. Am I saying the banks should pay for this child's medical care - absolutely not! What I am saying is that your (and my) assets, like savings and home, are losing value, while at the same time, real costs for necessities are increasing - food, utilities, gas, medicine, etc. All this excess liquidity being held by private corporations is nothing more than stealing from average, working class citizens. Return that money to the working class. Make them whole again, and then, I firmly believe there is enough humanity to more than pay for the truely unfortunate situations that can strike anyone. Not the gang-bangers that shoot each other and end up at the ER getting patched up. Not the drunks that crash through a fence or building, or run over innocent people and then beg for mercy. Personally, I don't give a rat's patootie for people that invite disaster and then want compassion. But I do care about this girl; I was in this very situation back a few years with my own daughter, and I will never forget the compassion and donations that kept my daughter alive. It was so worth it; she was written off by insurance (yes, we had for 20+ years), many doctors, and some hospitals, in such a callous disregard for life over money. We need to decide, as a nation, what's really important in life - life itself or money for the priviledged class.

Sure you do seeds. That's easily seen from what you post here.

Exactly right. I'd much rather have the option to convert my yearly insurance premiums into a yearly retainer for a physician for preventative health care. Too many times people fear the costs of healthcare and neglect things until they become big issues - causing the rise in costs they were trying to avoid. With a forward thinking approach, many illnesses can be either averted outright, or managed at a level that could improve quality of life while at the same time, contain costs. IMHO, a preventative care strategy coupled with a personal health savings plan can go a long way to solving many problems - but it may not be as profitable for the health care industry.

That statement speaks volumes about our health care system.
