What books are you reading or have recently read? Would you recommend it or give it a pass?

Right now I am reading a book called Evolution by Stephan Baxter. It is about the evolution of humans from the very beginning to the future. It is an interesting book and very well written.

It was recommended by another member that I read "The Road" which I did and thoroughly enjoyed. almost could not put it down and would definitely recommend reading it. Am now reading "A Wiccan Primer 101" and have found it most interesting as it is about something that I am totally unfamilar with. I enjoy reading about things that are new to me and I would recommend it but I'm sure there are people out there that it would conflict with their strong beliefs and might not enjoy it so recommending it across the board might not work but to those unfamiliar with Wiccan ideology and with liberally inquisitive minds it would work at building on the base of their pyramid of knowledge.

I normally have one non-fiction and one fiction going at a time. I'm about halfway through Wild Fermentation by Sandor Ellix Katz. I started my very first fermentation ever just this morning. I borrowed this book from the library and I'm seriously thinking about buying it.
My other book is Fool Moon by Jim Butcher. It's the second book of the Desden files. I don't love it, but I'll probably keep reading the series. |

I just got done reading "The Duggars: 20 and Counting." While I don't necessarily subscribe to all their beliefs, I do respect them and think they have an amazing family life and faith. They're parenting practices are very inspiring and helpful. I find them pretty amazing. |

Been stuck in fiction of the 1800's myself. The last three books I've read are:
Dostoyevsky's Crime & Punishment, Shelley's Frankenstein, Collection of Poe's short stories. Thoroughly enjoyed Dostoyevsky; had never read any of his before, and now looking forward to picking up more by him. Certainly enjoying this "phase" of reading some "older" material. ("older" being relative to what most people are reading nowadays) Can't say what started it, but it's keeping me interested for now.
