Emerald: I liked your pics in the other photobug thread. Too bad we cant combine all of the photos. You and Plantguy had some very nice shots.

i took at least 15 shots of this guy around dusk and they are constantly moving. hard to focus and stop the action all at once. this one was the only one out of 15that was worth saving.

Ski those hummers are tough to get a nice shot of. They just refuse to sit still and smile for the camera
![]() The DSLR do a better job than the point and shoots and dont have the lag between shots that some point and shoots do. They also all have better low light performance than any of the point and shoots. On that thought are there any that have caught your eye so far or made it on your short list? Jeff

Ski both canon and nikon make a good product and both have some good optics for me it came down to my one must have of a metal body and controls where I like them and find them natural to use and Nikon won hands down on those two for me.
In order to get a metal body on a canon I would have had to buy one of the two top models at around 3 grand plus that wasn't an option for me. And besides I just didn't like the control layout on canons. Go to a camera store and pick both of them up and try them out. I went to best buy and did this before buying mine. I then ordered it from amazon along with a lens. BTW your hummer shot is still pretty good nice female ruby throat. Jeff |

They must Ritz Camera is also good for trying out as they usually have even the higher end models and have the batteries in lens on and charged up so you can test focus exposure etc.
