Welcome to our forums! This online gardening community is different, political, and organic. I decided to start these forums so gardeners would have a free place to discuss heirloom gardening, gene-altered food, seed saving, natural politics and products. We are dedicated to saving our food and horticultural heritage, and hope you enjoy this forum for the free-thinking gardener! Wishing you great gardening, Jere Gettle |

A grow out is when you plant seeds to multiply them. For example, Baker Creek sends you 5 seeds of bush beans, you plant them, then let the plants go to seed, collect the seed and send it back to Baker Creek. I don't know how many seeds 5 bean plants will yield, but it will be much more than the original 5.

Got my peas for the grow out in the mail last week! Too late to start them now but I'm going to make a fall crop with them. I think it's awesome to help BC and heirlooms in general in this way.
I think you should start a social group for us for sure. |

Having a forum for Grow Outs would be more visible which would help to recruit gardeners.

The problem with social groups is, you don't have a lot of room to do a long post. That's why you see me putting Fibromyalgia, Lyme stuff over in the Off Topic section of the main forum. It's starting to get comedic with me (and FMS) trying to garden. My Mother says yesterday, "I don't think you should try it." Bull, I'm going to do it, I have to have help, and I will ask for help.
