So far, I've harvested 6 pumpkins.
Three little ones- Wee Be Little variety. Three smaller-medium ones- Hjinks variety. It may be early for pumpkins, but I have/had mine because my pumpkin vines were attacked by squash bugs. I'll try to get photos of the remaining pumpkins (two little ones were thrown away because they wrinkled up) and post them. Do I get bragging rights for first pumpkins harvested (with a little help from the squash bugs)? |

Yippie!! I harvested my first 4 small sugar pumpkins! they are pretty! I use a hot pepper and Murphys oil soap mix for the bugs! it helps keep them down a bit!

ok, no laughing. Is it too late to get a pumpkin if I planted the seeds a few days ok? Short story, impulse seed buy, poked them in the ground, they are popping up? Missouri

First off Springfever, good luck with your punkins!
If you do not know your average first frost date, you can check with your county ag extension office. They should be able to tell you. Also look on the seed packet. It should tell you the DTM - days to maturity. This should give you an idea if you have enough time. Early or late first frost can skew this, but at least you'll have an idea if you've got a chance. Having said that, I have had squash/pumpkin types come in way early and way late compared to the stated DTMs in the past. If you do get a frost before they are ready, you can always try them prepared like a summer squash to see if you like them - just one more reason to not give up on them.

I have more of them now, AND ( I don't know if these count) my Seminole Pumpkins are b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l !!!!!! They still look a lot like Butternut Squash but some of them look closer to pumpkins, Kind of fun with all the different shapes!
