Nothing.....woke up in a hotel room in Hartford CT after terrible dreams of squash bugs and cuc beetels roaming free through my guarden. Just hate it when work gets in the way.

I picked my first Ichiban eggplants and my first okra. I also picked more Japanese long cukes and serrano peppers. Unfortunately, I also picked about 30 striped cucumber beetles today.

Had to give up on mine. Too much heat, and too little water

Well my garden is like a horror movie with those things right now! I sprayed them tonight after the bees all went away.
We got an inch of rain this morning! I weeded carrots in the afternoon. Dang things are sure hard to weed and pull out so easily when the soil is wet. But when the soil is wet they can be replanted and do fine.

I reveled in all the rain we got overnight. And then immediately planted some more beans. I planted 32 beans at the end of June and only 5 came up. I'm trying one last time... maybe if it's not 100+ degrees the week after you plant they will come up???

Little Min on the same page for sure! It is great that you got rain, been a while since we had any. I do have a deep well though (640 ft) and running out of well water is not an option here.
Got home form a work trip to CT thisafternoon so I got to have "garden time". The wife did some watering and picking but is more the flower garden kind of person. So I picked some Zukes, Okra (yeah), cuc's and a couple of tom's. Thinned out the carrots and ate about a whole bunch (head?) of celery while doing it! Needs to cool down some so I can pickle beets, hopefully this weekend?
