Good to know.........after this weather passes thru I'm heading back out there with more stakes. I have a ton of bamboo. My neighbor planted some as a wind break and when he thins it every year, he gives it to me. In past years I've tied plants TO the poles ........never occurred to me to do a weave......I am a transformed/inspired woman now!

B2C -- I bought a few bags of composted manure from Lowes earlier this season just to top off the beds. It was junk too -- rocks, wood chips and hard clay-like clumps. Probably should have complained, or at least warned them what junk it is, but didn't get around to it.

planted more charleston grey and sugar baby watermelons, more ambrosia and hales best cantelope, and some straight 8 cukes. Layed cardboard and straw down around entire melon area. Layered 2 semi tires with newspaper, straw, goat manure, straw, and more goat manure. Watered real good.

I have to ask after working in your garden (mulching etc) how do you find the energy to post daily??? I spent almost a month planting putting in weed blocker and mulch between that cleaning the house.. making dinner..(well OK I only make dinner 4 out of 7 days in the summer).. feeding cats..dogs.. and 2 days a week watching a 1 year old at the end of the day I am lucky if I have the energy to read the news of the day..LOL.. I have to start getting up at 4 A.M. I need more hours in a day..
