Welcome to our forums! This online gardening community is different, political, and organic. I decided to start these forums so gardeners would have a free place to discuss heirloom gardening, gene-altered food, seed saving, natural politics and products. We are dedicated to saving our food and horticultural heritage, and hope you enjoy this forum for the free-thinking gardener! Wishing you great gardening, Jere Gettle |

Right after I heard about the senseless killing of the people in New York state I thought to myself I wonder how long before someone will use it to further than nutty antigun goals and low and behold it was only a few hours before the Brady Campaign stepped up and answered my question
. These people just don't get it and must live in another world. Most live where police are close by or have their own security, us who live in the country don't have that and must protect ourselves. As was said in another thread much of the gun debate is about the menality of city people against country people. Here is a link to the press release by the Brady Campaign: http://www.bradycampaign.org/media/r...p?release=1126 |

People have lost all sense of boundaries and decency. It's gross. I think I'll go write a little email to the Brady group.

If that secretary who played dead, and then called 911 after the maniac went past...had been armed, many people would be alive tonight.

Three or four in there with concealed carry weapons would have stopped it in short order.

[\QUOTE] If I believed for one second that getting rid of guns would allow us to live in peace and without fear, I would strongly consider it, but I know that this is not the case. Police protection where I live is all but worthless, while violent crime is at an all time high. There is none to protect us but ourselves.

I live 4 blocks from where it happened. and I don't think getting rid of guns is the answer. I would've felt safer if I'd had a gun myself.
