Ha!! as I hit the tab to come down here someone set one off!
But what I was here for in the first place. Is it is quiet here. :? Normally you would hear a myriad of big booms followed by whistling and whatnot. My neighborhood normally try to outdo each other with fireworks. But tonight it is silent for the most part, and errant one here and there but that's it. It is so dry some city's have shut down their display. I have seen cops rolling around my neighborhood. Even going toward someone lighting off some big ones earlier. I'm sure they are just warning people, our pigs ain't that bad. Been watering the lawn just in case. As I write this more and more are going off.

Well, good. Carroll County has a fireworks ban going on here too. This old firefighter does NOT want to have to spend my time fighting forest and potentially house fires in this weather! Life goes on.

No fireworks allowed in NM, except for municipal display's-- which is a very good thing, since NM is tinder dry, and we've already had devastating fires. I'm working in the city tomorrow, and mom and I and several friends are going to sit on top of another friends house roof and watch the fireworks, It will be fun

We are dry as well (even with the recent rain, too many grasses have 'cured off') ............But one tradition in our little town is most go to watch the 'big display' at the football field at the high school (the mortars are set off on the baseball field righ next to it) The families all bring their fireworks with them and set them off on the track around the field.............. Did I mention that the fire dept is on the opposite side from the BB field?
it's a good thing (and fun)
