My happy news is spending a few days eating the first canteloupe I've ever grown--it was 9 pounds. And tonight will be delicious pie from some early pumpkins! Yum!

My happy news is Lisa and I had a very nice lunch. Then I stopped by to say hello to another friend on my way home, had a chatty visit with her. I decided to treat myself to ice cream, so I dropped in at a grocery store before going home. My two favorite ice creams were on sale. I bought two half gallons and a package of Klondike bars for $7 and change. I made a banana milkshake when I got home. A nap is on the horizon. It has been a good day!

Okay. My brother picked 2 quarts of wild saskatoons (june berries) and gave them to me. There is nothing in the universe finer than saskatoon pie except maybe Sweet Basil's 9-pound cantaloupe. 9 pounds. I have never heard of such a thing...

Me and Lisa are sitting in beach chairs at island beach st ok. Right on the ocean. Just cooked two steaks and had a couple beers with fresh tomatoes from my garden. Have a big fire going now as the sun is going down. High tide is at nine pm and will be fishing until about 12am. Life is so good. Will post some pictures later.

My work office lost power last night, so we didn't have to go in until 10 AM this morning. Gave me time to water my garden. I am happy

It is a beautiful 82 degree, low humidity, breezy day - and we got rain! Think I will go to the cottage and hang out on the beach!

We had a day like that, w/o the rain, so it was MUCH nicer than it has been, with the super hi humidity and 90+ temps. Would have preferred some rain for the plants, but can't have everything! And the peppers are ripening so fast that even I can't keep up with them!

That is because they aren't big enough to need even an AA much less a DD.
