Default GreenZone's in the Heirloom Gardener!

Great article on pepinos, GZ! I thought the picture was an eggplant at first! They sound really interesting, but too much of a hassle for my area. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind trying them.

Near as I can tell is that they're a "fruit" related to tomatoes and eggplants, that kind of remind you of melon. That and they need a very long season or a greenhouse to produce.

Apparently, pepino means different things in different countries. In northern Mexico (and among most Hispanics in the U.S.), pepino is the word for "cucumber".
