Still rubbing it in I see. I would love to have full time help, but even with the unemployment rate so high, I cannot get it - reliable help that is.

Norm is the operable word on the rainfall - and your zone. With all the rain, we have also had "whiplash" temperatures , sometimes from the 50s daytime to 80s daytime ,overnight, several times in a week.

I love it here, though.....and I love a challenge! Besides, if gardening was easy, everybody would do it - and we wouldn't be so special

Ours is sprouting beautifully! We will mulch it when temps get cold enough. W8 - how can you plant it wrong?

I am making a list of things for the neighborhood kid that helps me to do- unless this next coastal storm hits this weekend. Now that school has started and hunting season and rockfish season are here, he only works a few hours Sunday afternoons.

I pulled weeds from my tangerine trees, and started new seedlings for tai queen siam basil, litchi tomato, great white tomatoes, dandelion, and a few other herbs in my greenhouse.

Had the leaf vacuum truck come by the garden at Pap's house and dump a huge load of leaves on the garden! Now, I do not have to go round loading them up on the truck!
