Luvs, yikes, tell me if I have done the right thing. the mother plants to this are still growing, still blooming and they aer in those raised stone pots with bottoms hollow, so their roots are probably in the ground by now. I have mulched it heavily with leaves all inside the pots and on top the plants. Will this kill them since they are still growing and blooming? Or should I have cut them back regardless of new growth then mulch heavily`?

You did fine cutting them back...but noticing your zone 7, I would wait a little longer before mulching and covering.
I am in zone 5 a little cooler, and have not covered mine yet.

It's a little game you play with the weather...the time to mulch and cover...is when you know you will not
be getting anymore warm fall days and the ground will start to harden from the frosty nights...just before the snow flies.
Hope I explained that well..

A little hint: especially with spring bulbs moles, voles and mice love to eat as well as some perennials:
Wait till the ground hardens before mulching...otherwise
you will make a nice little blanket for the rodents to bury nicely in the soft ground for the winter with plenty of food.

OMG, I have not cut the Ostos back but heavily mulched them to cover most of the stems, I have mulched ALL my perinnials and it is still relatively warm cool about 10C in the day and sometimes 4C at night, and lots of rain. Now should I remove the mulch and wait? Will my osto die with this type of mulch in the high pots`? when should I mulch my rosemaries? Oh my of may

I'm sorry Drama...
There will be many more to try....

As I mentioned, I am in zone 5 and just getting ready to cover
in a week or so , just before the snow flies.

Those warm days hurt when you cover too eary.
