Re: Turnip Greens, what to do?

Picking the turnip greens small makes a difference as to how strong they taste, al;so best after a cold snap or frosty night or three, at least to us.

I have previously cooked them down to beyond...

Re: Top Local Foods Stories of 2014

Ahh, yes, the farmer's market was never identified, and all the markets in that area indicated by Rozie denied any involvement with any doctors. I made a lot of phone calls trying to locate the...

Re: City Council Backs Proposal to Ban Genetically Modified Crops

The city of LA grows how much in crops? And who will bear the cost of proving if the plants are gmo or not?

Guess if the citrus regreening gets worse, LA will not have the orange and other citrus...

Re: Why This Mom Boycotts Organic

Best practices are what is important- not some trumped up doctrine of the great "organic" thing ( and at a higher price, too!).

Re: week its done

Yes, and I also find it offensive to those who followed the laws and did things right, and those breaking the laws getting a free pass, to work in all fields of employment, to get benefits they are...

Re: Corn Rights

No legs.

The corn was legal and approved in this country, where it was sold. Unless Sygenta advertised that it could be sold to China, the suit is simply a joke.

Best see who pays for the costs...

Re: peanutbutter the awful truth

If you would use butter on the page(bread), then PB, it won't stick. Are the pages difficult to bite through?

Re: Scattering Seeds

It also depends on the effect you want- such as a bed area versus a meadow land look.

I have always started my seed pretty much in either seed flats or solo type cups and then put them where I...

Re: Eat More Kale Wins!

Interesting story and nice to see a little guy win one, plus it was probably great experience for the law students as well.

I kept seeing in both articles ( the one above and the source article on...

Re: Hemp Seeds

As long as the beetles leave the Twinkies and Doritos alone, we'll be okay with that. Oh, and the queso dip, they can't have that, either.

Re: The Blonde Vegan -- No Longer

Yes, you are correct- we are omnivores, but our eyes are facing forward and yes, we can and do digest raw meat just fine.

Re: What $20million can buy you

In some states, it did pass, but with restrictions requiring other states also pass bills; then there is what, Maine?, or Vermont, that is in a lawsuit now?

So, then don't buy processed foods.

According to your previous posts on this forum, you purchase little to no processed foods, so why so vehement about other people's food choices? Boycott away...

Re: The Blonde Vegan -- No Longer

I agree- if humans were meant to eat only a vegan diet, why is our physiology that of a predator?!!

It's like trying to feed a cat a vegan diet. Can it be done? yes, but the cat's health will...

Re: Hemp Seeds

I watched about half of it, and while I agree that hemp has a lot of uses, I don't buy into the "super foods" thing at all for any food.

I do wish it was legal to grow hemp again.

Re: Peter Peppers?
