I have so many pics of those days, and the remembrances that go with them-

I repotted my babies and then I thought "ohhhhh holy crop of tomatoes!" Now what?? So I put them in a laundry basket and put a piece of plastic that goes to the green house over them then put a rock on it .. :D They all made it.. I have got to get my camera going so I can get a pic of them ... I am so proud of my babies.. I have more I need to repot.. The thing is I thought I'd get a couple of each one to actually live and well .. lets just say I'll have a cluttered garden also.. But I got friends :D

Alabama--about 75 mi from me, we are scouting the area and looking for a dredge.
Got about a pint of garnets and enough gold to pay for the trip, and change.

$5.00 per day, highbanker rental 7.50/hr, dredges $15-20 /day.
Cabin rentals $65.00/night or camping $5----15 primative or hook up.
Man 'O Man would I love to get into those black opals!--on my Bucket List.

John Deere--c.1900's(Wish somebody would give me info) (single horizontal cylinder), darn thing must have a 6" piston in it, maybe 10 HP---sheet metal at least quarter inch thick!!

The oil slick in the Gulf is hanging about 2-3 miles offshore--just a matter of time before the wind shifts to the N.E. then it will hit Bama.
The folks in Venice, La., the jumping off place--the road ends-- are taking matters seriously and not waiting for a Pie to fall from the sky, tough bunch there, 33% of nations seafood comes out of Louisiana.
Maybe the winds will decide to blow S.W. and end up way out in the gulf, I hope so.
Got my bag packed for standby,will lend a hand as needed.

My krims don't have their seconed leaves yet tho .... It took me 5 hrs to transplant all them maters lol...

I guess when it comes to weather it is Michigans turn..We had tornado watches yesterday frost warnings had to put all my maters and other plants in the garage lastnight .. hope it warms up again soon before the all croak!!

Great day today, 74 and brisk breeze--working outside all day and ready for something to eat.
70 tomorrow and two rows of Commodore beans going in--then finished.
Had to replant potatos , too much rain several weeks back.

My Grandma was born there too. Great little town, still has a few cobblestone streets. Also has a Dr.Pepper plant you can tour. You'll have to try one of their fountain drinks...SO much better than you get in the can/bottle! You can also purchase Dr.Pepper in that area made with Pure Cane Sugar instead of the corn syrup.
