The Pennsylvania kit I have my eye on is made in Italy by Pendersoli. Finished one has browned barrel and I think I like the browned look on a muzzle loader, Looked at a Damascus barrelled 12 gauge double years ago that had the browned barrels a beauty especially in the Damascus. I dont mind the Hawkens either and if I wanted a gun just for hunting would go with a Hawken or the shorter carbine length rifles. I do like the long barrels and dropped stock on the Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Tennesee rifles and if you can find one with a curly maple stock all the better. Thanks for the info on browning I know some of the home blueing kits are not so good. Best is a full submersion dip tank. Jeff:) |

Dave,
Back home as a kid, the "Lamp" was used every week--Mom measured Tea (Red Diamond was the only thing) out in the inner strainer, either poured hot water on top, or boiling in the bottom, put lid on and let it steep---It's a Halls origional-- got it yesterday hasn't been cleaned yet-- Most one finds has the right side almost rubbed off--Alladins Lamp?--;) I know that they are a prize--Mom's never failed--maybe it's downstairs? or gone in time after I left home-- P.S. It makes very good tea. |
