Will have to check it out Ax always liked Peter O'Toole.

Weather has been beautiful here got started on cutting up a big maple that fell over in the storms earlier this year. Was just waiting for fall and cooler weather to tackle it . It fell in an empty open patch of field/grass so wasnt in the way of anything. I prefer fall and winter for woodcutting and splitting.

Went up to Pennsylvania for thanksgiving and made it back ok.

Hope all is well with you.

Jeff:)

It's an excellent movie, O'Toole does a superb depiction.

It's been nice up until two days ago, then the Icewater rains came :)

Fall and winter, for me the best wood cutting time, that maple--and old trick-bore a hole or so about 2-3 inches deep--if you can get ahold of some tobacco leaves pack them in with a dowel and seal off with a wooden plug--Come back next year and split the log open.

This is where the term "a plug of tobacco " came from--tobacco absorbs the tree flavor--

Sounds like you had a good thanksgiving, and all is well here.

Ax.
