Re: AX'S CORNER
Most interesting article popped up on screen this A.M. "Blackbeards Cannon Found", yet to be verified.
Thought it might an Appro Po subject for Halloween.:) The "Queen Anns Revenge"--Flagship of one, Edward Teach, AKA "Blackbeard" Teach was a rather large man for the time--over 6 ft tall when the norm was about 5'5". Black heavy hair and beard. He put Slowmatch in his beard and lit them, fire and smoke, along with red ribbons--Get the Picture Yet?--chuckle. His favorite punishment for unruly crewmembers --"Be Keelhaul". A rope was tied about one's waist, and thrown "Fore 'Ta 'Aft"" overboard, the person was dragged along the bottom of the ship---OOOhhh barnacles--and was pulled to the surface -'Aft---only took one time to be Keel Hauled to make one think before being unruly aboard "Ship". |

Did you know Mook is a place south of Nijmegen? A famous battle took place on its heath! Do you think 'our' Mook is named after it? |
