I planted arugala and then the temp dropped too low for me to garden. '40's
and gray. Fortunately last Sunday which was a beautiful sunny '50's day I trimmed butterfly bush and sage.
I bought pansies but been too cold to plant them.
bah.

transplanted 3 rows , 22 plants per row , tomatoes into the garden rows this morning and planted french marigolds between tom plants .

Dug and moved a privet plant to far edge of front yard. Mowed grass. removed the dead azaleas from front flwbed . raked sweet gum balls and hauled off to compost pile .

found a real neat looking plant growing under the sweet gum tree so transplanted it into a pot . Just to see what it turns out to be. foliage is sorta like a thick leathery fern leaf, roots are very thick and fleshy almost like airplane plant roots.

Pulled some walking onions for gr onions for dinner and cut some brocolli florets.

Planted my first 72 cell tray a few days back and had 2 broccoli sprouts pop up today.

So far I've planted:
-Eggplant
-Pepper (Mild and 2 hot types)
-Cabbage
-Broccoli
-Brussels Sprouts

Also trying to sprout a few tomatoes and beans a bit early (Starting the rest in a week or two) just to see how they do under indoor fluorescent lighting. Also threw in some mint seeds and lettuce.

I also hand tilled a small section tonight to get my pea seeds outside and in the ground.

I uncovered my strawberries, planted spinach, radishes, potatoes and onions last week. Then it snowed! And the temperature fell to 26 F. Hope everything will be ok. I'm sure what I planted will be because it hadn't sprouted yet. But the strawberries???

T'Gardenator,

Be careful where you plant your horseradish - it's very invasive.

Good luck with your herb garden!:)
