I have often toyed with the idea that Peter Jackson may do the Silmarillion probably in a more condensed version, such as star wars starting out in the middle of the books he would need to tie it all in. it's almost to the point where he has enough footage to be able to make it without live actors or sets. Oh well. Back to gardening, LOL

    Hey!
That is such a great area... must be rough...

    I'm a Tolkien fan myself.
Spent my youth reading LOtR every Summer and Winter break.
Still go through it and the Silmarillion every year... though I may skip to my favorite parts every now and again.

Howdy, I've appreciated the perspective and wisdom of your posts of late, and noticed your location.
I grew up near St James and Sedalia/Smithton, MO and went to University in Kirksville... and still have kin in Ozark.
The MO Ozarks are a particularly beautiful region that I wish I could move back to...

If you don't mind me asking, where are you from specifically?

And, nice Gandalf quote by the way.

I agree -- there are several posters on this forum who think like you and I - not always in a consistent pattern, but generally. Frustration with the system we live in, coupled with a real love for the system's ideal condition, seems to lead us back to a simpler, more locally-oriented, lifestyle -- we still think nationally, and "call 'em like we see 'em", but - in my case, at least - use our real energies to act locally. Good to meet you, Mohoghead!
