They have so far. I have gotten about 15 watermelons from the seeds I planted. My granddaughter loved them. I had better success from the blacktail Mountain then I did from the black diamonds. But I didn't give any of the melons any extra fertilizer or anything and they were growing in a 1st year prepped garden area.

Hiya', GCG. Yep, it's been crazy-hot, and I'll say hey to Beth for ya'....she got off the boat wednesday and came here, but we're headed to the coast in the morning to get things (garden and whatnot) handled, then back here. Her garden is hard to manage, bein' as how it's soooooo sandy, and she aint there to water or maintain it for weeks at a time.

In that pic you posted on the previous visitor message, the one of the gourd, there is a weed that looks kinda' like a wee baby mimosa tree, but it aint.....do you know what that is? Lotsa' folks here call it coffee weed, but it AINT coffee weed.

Having fried eggprlant toninght to accompany the burgers, eggplant from one of the starts you gave me. Lots of my gardens got all beat up from the heat, but that eggplant is still kickin' like a mule!

No improvement and in some ways worse. She sees the orthopod on Mon...we'll know more then.

At least it looks like this won't be much of a storm.

Also, I owe you a very belated birthday. Haven't hardly had time to check messages, much less read the posts lately. I hope you had a great day!

Yep, beans were non-germinating, and had to get some new bush beans, and I planted almost every squash seed that I had left, which is 2-3 times the number I started with, just in different ratios. Took longer than expected, due to an epic struggle with getting car back running normal to pass inspection (significantly rougher on inspection here, I've been made to understand). Anyway, despite an infestation of leaf rollers, looks like I might have a decent yield from the way the plants are taking off, starting to vine well. Thanks for asking.
